Pack Dues:
Why do we pay Pack Dues in addition to National and Council Dues?
Pack 4031 is completely self-funded. We do not receive any financial support from National or Council dues.
Where does my money go?
Your local pack dues (currently $53) stay with our pack and go directly toward supplies and awards we provide for your child. Pack dues help cover the cost of the many fun and unique activities each scout gets to experience as well as the gear each scout receives. The actual cost per scout this year is at least $77.64 (see below)
Here are some examples:
Rank Specific
Tigers and Lions: Handbook $12.99
Webelo Colors: $8.99
Applies to All Scouts
Raingutter Regatta Boat kit: $6.99
Raingutter Regatta Patch: $2.39
Raingutter Regatta Ribbon: $0.89
Pinewood Derby Car: $7.99
Lego Derby Wheels: $5 (provided one-time, each scout is responsible for holding onto from year to year)
Leather Neckerchief Slide: $7.59 (provided one-time)
Neckerchief: $12.99
Rank Patch: $3.29
Additional patches for activities such as winter/summer camps, the August Event, the Hobo Jungle event typically run $1.99-$2.99 per patch.
Belt loops (Lion thru Bear): $17.52 (it takes 8 to make rank @ $2.19 each)
Pins (Webelos and AOL): $22.32 (it takes 8 to make rank @2.79 each)
For a Tiger scout who participates in the Raingutter Regatta, Pinewood Derby, Lego Derby and makes rank by earning the minimum (8) adventures, supplies and awards cost $77.64
Scouts are encouraged to earn any and all of the elective adventures in addition to the 8 adventures required to make rank.
In addition, several of our pack meetings incur costs, such as the Pool Pack Meeting. The pack covers the fee for each scout (currently $3).
This year our November pack meeting brought you the Snake Guy, which is always a scout favorite!
January's Pack meeting was the Bear Carnival, filled with scout-made carnival games, delicious treats and fun prizes!
Fundraising:
Pack dues don't cover all of the costs incurred by each scout. To help cover the remaining expenses and raise money for the Pack to be able to operate and provide unique opportunities for each scout, fundraising is critical. This is the only way the pack brings in funds to operate (outside of personal, voluntary donations).
Popcorn:
Popcorn is our biggest fundraiser and we encourage all scouts to participate. There are 2 ways to sell popcorn. Personal order forms (Take Orders) and Pack booths (typically at the Maplewood gas station and the Trailside gas station) Each scout and their adult are encouraged to work 2-3 shifts. Each shift is 2 hours long. Historically, working 2-3 shifts earns your scout enough money to cover their pack dues so you don't have to pay them out-of-pocket. This is an easy way to earn money which is why participation is highly encouraged!
Kwik Trip Gift Cards: We order gift cards from Kwik Trip, twice yearly when they offer bonuses on their earnings. These orders typically occur in February and September. Reach out to Carla Winter with questions about this fundraising opportunity.

Uniform - More on Uniform page here.
The last few years we have been lax with uniforms, but we would like to get back to looking sharp. Especially for selling Popcorn, we want our kids to look as sharp as possible. (For Popcorn, we have a couple of shirts to lend for booths.)
Shirts: Kindergarten – Lion T-shirt; 1st – 3rd grade (4th grade optional) Blue BSA Shirt; 4th & 5th grade Tan BSA Shirt
Neckerchief & Slide: Kindergarten no neckerchief or slide; 1st – 5th – Den level slide or made slide and neckerchief
Pants: All levels - Denim, scout shorts/pants or kakis pants, skirts, leggings preferred. (PLEASE NO ATHLETIC PANTS)
Optional Items: Scout hats, belts, and socks are all great additions to the uniform, but not necessary.
Neckerchief and Slides are provided by the pack
You do not need to go to the scout store to find scout shirts, they can be found on Market Place, Goodwill and rummage sales for a much more cost-effective rate.
Upcoming Parent/Leader Meetings:
2nd Tuesday of each month 6pm @ the VFW (subject to change)

Important note to all scout Parents:
Do you enjoy scouts and what we do? Fundraising? Winter Camp? Summer
Camp? Other activities? Do you want Pack 4031 to be able to continue to do all the activities we do? We Need Help!
Pack 4031 is in need of help with our committee:
I hope that we all have a lot of fun in the meetings and activities that we do with Pack 4031, but the truth is, we could not do it without help from Volunteers. We have some key roles in our leadership that will soon be changing over with scouts who are aging out of the program. You can help in many ways either wearing the brown uniform, or not. Do you have computer skills? Are you good at Organization? What other abilities do you have that you can help contribute to the pack. It truly comes in many ways from helping us set up before derbies, running the computer end of the derbies so we can keep track of all the times, maintaining our website, or general help of keeping us organized. If you would like to become more involved with the pack, please reach out to the pack admin team at [email protected] or any of the leaders within the pack and help us keep the pack running strong.
Positions:
• Fundraising Chair
• Committee Secretary
• Training Coordinator
• Committee Chair
• Recharter Coordinator
