Fundraising
Pack dues don't cover all of the costs incurred by each scout. To help cover the remaining expenses and raise money for the Pack to be able to operate and provide unique opportunities for each scout, fundraising is critical. This is the only way the pack brings in funds to operate (outside of personal, voluntary donations). Fundraising can also help cub-scouts earn additional funds to put towards participation in "extra" events such as winter and summer camp(s).
Our current Fundraising Opportunities include...
Popcorn
Popcorn is our biggest fundraiser and we encourage all scouts to participate. There are 2 ways to sell popcorn. Personal order forms (Take Orders) and Pack booths (typically at the Maplewood gas station and the Trailside gas station) Each scout and their adult are encouraged to work 2-3 shifts. Each shift is 2 hours long. Historically, working 2-3 shifts earns your scout enough money to cover their pack dues so you don't have to pay them out-of-pocket. This is an easy way to earn money which is why participation is highly encouraged!
Kwik Trip Gift Cards
We order gift cards from Kwik Trip, twice yearly when they offer bonuses on their earnings. These orders typically occur in February and September. Reach out to Carla Winter with questions about this fundraising opportunity.
Polka Days
Each summer our Pack is offered a variety of volunteer shifts to help run this local annual event. Information about volunteer opportunities are sent to registered families with the Pack in June.

What is the TOTAL cost for joining cub-scouts with Pack 4031.
2026/27 Year Annual Scouting Fees:
$85.00 National Registration Fee + $15 Council Fee + $60 Pack Fee
= $165.00 for twelve months (less than $14 per month)
Pack Dues:
Why do we pay Pack Dues in addition to National and Council Dues?
We pride ourselves with being able to keep our pack fees low and have only raised our fee's once in the last 6 years. Pack 4031 is completely self-funded. We do not receive any financial support from National or Council dues.
Where does my money go?
Your local pack dues of $65.00, stay with our pack and go directly toward supplies and awards we provide for your child. Pack dues help cover the cost of the many fun and unique activities each scout gets to experience as well as the gear each scout receives. The actual cost per scout in 2025/26 was at least $77.64 (see below)

Pins (Webelos and AOL): $22.32 (it takes 8 to make rank @2.79 each)
For a Tiger scout who participates in the Raingutter Regatta, Pinewood Derby, Lego Derby and makes rank by earning the minimum (8) adventures, supplies and awards cost $77.64
***Scouts are encouraged to earn any and all of the elective adventures in addition to the 8 adventures required to make rank which increases this cost.
In addition, several of our pack meetings incur costs, such as purchasing supplies/snacks/prizes for our Bear Carnival and August Events. The cost of pool passes for registered scouts for our Swim Pack Meeting etc.. Over the years our Pack has paid to have a variety of fun opportunities including visits from the Snake Guy, Fishing Demonstrations, Magicians, etc.
